The top legislative body of the denomination, comprising nearly 1,000 international delegates, meets every four years.

The Rev. Dr. Violet L. Fischer of West Chester, PA has been assigned to serve as bishop of the New York West Area. During the service, a cloudburst soaked participants, knocked out all electricity, forcing everyone back inside the hotel, where Rev. Fischer was consecrated on a kneeler in front of the registration desk.
